The situation

Meridian is an established Leeds facilities company covering cleaning, maintenance and fully integrated contracts. Their website was a standard Wix build: stock skyline imagery, no trust signals, a headline typo, a copyright line reading 2035, a phone number that only appeared on mobile and auto-generated page addresses. For a company that wins work through procurement teams, the first impression was working against them.

Design direction

The concept is called The City, Working. A dark, night-time Leeds sets the scene for a business that keeps buildings running after everyone else has gone home. The existing orange monogram was kept and enlarged, with the brand orange used only as the accent so it reads as a signal rather than a wash. Three full-screen service chapters stack as you scroll, a compliance console shows the checks that keep a building safe, and an industries rail moves sideways through the sectors they serve.

Mobile experience

Designed for the phone first, not squeezed to fit it.

Most of the audience will meet the site on a phone. The mobile layouts are designed deliberately, with their own order, spacing and interactions.

UX approach

Twenty-one pages sit under one consistent structure: a services hub with seven service pages, compliance, industries, projects, a consultation form and a full set of legal pages. A desktop services dropdown and a full-screen menu make the depth easy to navigate, every page carries its own search title, and the old page addresses redirect to the new ones so nothing is lost.

Before and after

Drag to compare.

The site the business had, against the one designed for it. Same business, same facts, different first impression.

What was delivered

A static build with proper form handling, redirects, sitemap and a password-protected preview for the client to review ahead of launch. Everything works with animation switched off, on a slow connection and on a phone.
