The situation

Teddy Lancaster is a solo salon at Springfield Mills in Farsley. The owner holds a City and Guilds Level 3 qualification and canine first aid certification. The Wix site dated from 2021, used stock photography instead of the salon's own dogs, and offered no gallery, no reviews and no way to book.

Design direction

The first concept is warm and personable, designed for pet owners rather than a corporate audience, with booking as the primary action and an honest before-and-after gallery structure ready for real photographs. The second is deliberately different: a darker, cinematic treatment that proves the same business can be presented two ways and lets the owner choose.

Mobile experience

Designed for the phone first, not squeezed to fit it.

Most of the audience will meet the site on a phone. The mobile layouts are designed deliberately, with their own order, spacing and interactions.

UX approach

Book, see the work, trust the person. The page order follows the way a new customer actually decides, and the booking button is never more than a thumb away on mobile.

Before and after

Drag to compare.

The site the business had, against the one designed for it. Same business, same facts, different first impression.

About this concept. This was designed as a free redesign concept to show the business what its website could be. It was not commissioned, and the business has not endorsed it. The name, logo and photography belong to the business.
