YCM Ltd
A hundred staff, four offices and accreditations to match, hidden behind a website from another decade.

The situation
Yorkshire Cleaning and Maintenance has been trading since 2012, runs four offices and more than seventy daily contracts, holds CHAS and SafeContractor accreditation and carries a five-star Google rating. Their website was an old table-based layout that showed none of it. Procurement teams check the website first, and this one undersold the company against smaller competitors with sharper sites.
Design direction
A corporate facilities direction built to put YCM on a tender shortlist: accreditations, scale and retention figures up front, proper sector pages, and their own photography and branding throughout. Nothing in it looks like a template because the company does not run like one.

Designed for the phone first, not squeezed to fit it.
Most of the audience will meet the site on a phone. The mobile layouts are designed deliberately, with their own order, spacing and interactions.

UX approach
A homepage that answers the three questions a facilities buyer asks in the first ten seconds: who are you, who do you already work for, and can I trust you with my building. Clear routes into sectors, services and an enquiry.
What was delivered
A homepage concept built in full, with desktop and mobile versions, presented to the business as a free redesign concept. This was not commissioned work.
About this concept. This was designed as a free redesign concept to show the business what its website could be. It was not commissioned, and the business has not endorsed it. The name, logo and photography belong to the business.
